Our Story

Balance began in the fall of 2019, when Josie Stokken met Allison Linhart at a “Yoga in the Loft” class. A shared passion for wellness sparked a friendship, and with it, big dreams for the future.

In October 2021, at a Women Lead Central Montana workshop, Josie spoke her vision out loud: a physical therapy clinic focused on pelvic health and whole-body care. Surrounded by a room full of encouragement, that moment sparked something bigger.

By spring of 2022, Josie — born and raised right here in Lewistown — brought that vision to life, founding Restorative Physio. Passionate about women’s health and rehabilitation, she was proud to bring her skills back to her hometown. Yoga classes soon began taking shape in the back of the clinic, and the idea of a studio grew alongside it. In December 2022, Balance Studio officially opened its doors, serving individuals across Central Montana and surrounding communities.

From the beginning, Balance was built to be more than a clinic or a fitness space. It was built as a place to heal, to move mindfully, to support one another, and to find steadiness in the middle of life’s chaos — one practice, two spaces, rooted in the same belief in whole-person care.

Today, Josie is the sole owner of Balance, continuing to lead both the clinic and the studio with the same heart, vision, and commitment to community wellness that started it all.
