Female Health
What should I expect on my first women's pelvic health evlauation?
Your physical therapist will review your detailed online intake paperwork prior to your appointment. This will allow more time to focus on your story and learn about general pelvic education and how it relates to your symptoms. An external and internal pelvic floor assessment can be very beneficial to provide the best information regarding your current symptoms, but this is always your choice if you want to perform. Then as a team, we will create the best plan of care for your current symptoms.
What is push-prep?
Did you know you burn the same amount of calories during labor/birth as you do running a marathon!?! Most of us don’t wake up and decide to run a marathon without training. Labor and birth should be no different. We help educate and train you on the proper mechanics of pushing with incorporating positioning, breathing, and manual techniques. Research shows this combination of training can help reduce perineal trauma and reduce the duration of the second stage of labor – pushing.
